Go Mo? Salah now 6/4 for Golden Boot after Kane KO

With 22 games gone and 16 remaining, we’re very much into the second half of this season’s Premier League.

Liverpool and Manchester City are locked in a two-horse fight for the title, but there’s a roaring scrap building for the Golden Boot too.

Mohamed Salah claimed the accolade last season with a record-breaking 32 goal haul. Can the Egyptian win it again? Here’s our rundown of the top five in the betting…

Mo Salah – 14 goals – 6/4

The Liverpool star currently sits joint-top of the goalscorer charts, and he heads the Golden Boot market at 6/4.

Salah had 17 goals at this stage last season, but after a relatively slow start this term, has bagged seven in his last seven. On such form, he’ll be hard to beat.

Pierre Emerick Aubameyang – 14 goals – 5/2

It’s been 12 months now since Aubameyang joined Arsenal, and he’s looked very much at home in North London.

He’s bagged 24 Premier League goals in just 35 games for the Gunners, including 14 in 22 this term. If he’s to win the Golden Boot however, he’ll need Emery and his side to sort out a misfiring and lacklustre midfield.

Harry Kane – 14 goals – 5/1

Still only 25-years-old, Tottenham talisman Kane is already a two-time Golden Boot winner. But it’ll be tough for the England international to make it a hat-trick this term.

Though level with Salah and Aubameyang on 14, an ankle injury from a Phil Jones tackle late on against Manchester United has put Kane out until March. His odds have slipped from 12/5 to 5/1 as a result.

Sergio Aguero – 10 goals – 6/1

He might be four goals back, but Man City’s Argentinian ace can never be discounted.

Aguero has hit 20 Premier League goals or more in each of the last four Premier League seasons.  Pep Guardiola’s side like to share the goals around, but if they carry on plundering them in, Aguero is sure to feature.

Eden Hazard – 10 goals – 16/1

After seven goals from the opening eight games of the season, Eden Hazard was on a different level to any other Premier League player.

The Belgian has struggled of late, as Maurizio Sarri continues to forge his style of football at Chelsea.

But while the Blues lack a proven goalscorer up front, Hazard will remain the West Londoners’ most likely source of goals.
