Friday’s transfer rumour round-up: Is dynamic Dabo Fulham’s saviour?

Published:
Bryan Dabo - Fiorentina

It’s been a season to forget so far for Fulham fans. But good times could be just around the corner, with the Cottagers closing in on a midfield powerhouse.

Elsewhere, Chelsea’s forward flop is ready to head back to La Liga. And Manchester United could poach Crystal Palace’s next big thing.

Here are the big moves being touted on the grapevine…

From Florence to Fulham?

Few Premier League sides need a January bargain quite as badly as Fulham. And Claudio Ranieri appears to have Fiorentina’s Bryan Dabo top of his shopping list.

The Burkina Faso international has been in and out of the team at current club Fiorentina. But there’s no doubt his physicality and versatility could help the crumbling Cottagers.

Three goals last season also suggest he could add an extra edge on set-pieces for a side heavily reliant on Aleksandr Mitrovic.

Liverpool to Go West?

Liverpool sit four points clear at the top of the Premier League, and could push further ahead with a savvy January signing or two.

In the last 24 hours, Jurgen Klopp has been strongly linked for Schalke 04 prodigy Weston McKennie. The 20-year-old midfielder has been in sparkling form, and netted in both the Bundesliga and Champions League.

The American’s asking price is believed to be around £20m. If he helps lead the Reds to a first league title since 1990, he could quickly prove an absolute steal.

From pain to Spain for Morata

The curtain looks set to be drawn on Alvaro Morata’s stuttering stint at Stamford Bridge, and the latest reports say he’s signed an agreement to join Atletico Madrid.

Having grown up in Madrid and begun his youth career with Atleti, the move would appear to be just the ticket for the proven La Liga goalscorer.

While the Blues are unlikely to recoup the full £60m they shelled out for him in Summer 2017, boss Maurizio Sarri seems happy to cut his losses. This deal looks to be as good as done.

Aaron the Wan for Man United?

With Antonio Valencia winding down and Diogo Dalot yet to become a regular, Manchester United are reportedly looking at right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

The Crystal Palace ace has been a revelation this season. The 21-year-old has started all-but-one of Palace’s Prem games this term.

He kicked things off with an assist away at Fulham on opening day, and has continued to go from strength to strength.

Now a feature in England’s Under-21 side, it’s no surprise to see the Old Trafford scouts taking notice.
