Friday Transfer Rumour round-up: Spurs to make their first signing of the season?

Published:

The clock is ticking on this year’s winter window with little under a week to go.

We’ve already seen Bournemouth snap up defender Chris Mepham and Jordan Lukaku all but seal a loan move to Newcastle United.

So we take a ride on the rumour mill and find four names that look to be on the move before the window shuts.

Money is the motive for Spurs

Much has been said about Spurs’ lack of summer signings, but it looks like the wallet may be out now.

Injuries to key men Harry Kane and Dele Alli has forced their hand, but a forward player now seems to be on the radar.

The name that’s being mentioned is Borussia Monchengladbach winger Jonas Hofmann.

A reported £100,000 a week contract is being talked about for the former Borussia Dortmund man.

Spurs fans are crying out for a new signing and Daniel Levy may finally be delivering.

Emery returns to PSG for loan signing

It’s well documented Arsenal don’t have any money to spend this month. But that hasn’t stopped them snooping around some loan deals.

An injury crisis in defence means they’re looking for a versatile man who could play in midfield and at the back.

Gaffer Unai Emery has his sights set on his PSG youngster Christopher Nkunku. The 21-year-old could be available on a loan deal and can play across a number of positions.

Cedric Soares to Inter

Southampton may be looking a bit more stable under Ralph Hasenhuttl, but that hasn’t stopped bigger teams snaring their best players.

This time it’s right-back Cedric Soares. The defender has been a near ever present since his move to the Saints in 2015.

But reports suggest he’s now undergoing a medical at Serie A giants Inter Milan.

The player has already endeared himself to fans with a familiar rallying cry.

Forza Inter, indeed!

Paredes in Paris

Frenkie De Jong’s transfer to Barcelona has triggered Paris Saint-Germain to slap up to £40 million on the table for Zenit’s Leandro Paredes.

Paredes has been leading Chelsea on a merry-dance all month, but it now looks like he’s ready to accept a move to the French capital instead.

Thomas Tuchel is looking for a long-term successor to outgoing Adrien Rabiot.

A deal is now being completed for Paredes to move this month.
