Friday transfer rumour-round up: Everton sending out Bat signal

Published:
Michy Batshuayi - Valencia

The rumour mill is in full swing today, with clubs across the Premier League looking to get that Friday feeling by bagging a new signing.

Word is that a Chelsea exile could be making his way to Merseyside, while the Blues could be stinging Watford by bagging their Argentine ace.

Here are the day’s big stories…

Michy off to Merseyside?

Recent business between Everton and Chelsea has been pretty common. Romelu Lukaku joined the Toffees from the Blues, before Ross Barkley swapped the North-West for West London.

And the pair could be set to strike another deal this month, with boss Marco Silva reportedly sizing up a move for Michy Batshuayi.

Having struggled for games at Stamford Bridge, Batshuayi is currently (and fittingly) wearing the bat-themed badge of Valencia!

However, having managed a paltry goal in 15 La Liga outings, they’re unlikely to fight too hard to keep him permanently. A move to Goodison Park could work for everyone.

Chelsea ready to Pey for Roberto?

Talking of the Blues, it could be one in, one out this month. That’s following a raft of reports linking Watford’s midfield maestro Roberto Pereyra with a move to Chelsea.

The Argentine international has been terrific on the left of midfield this term, racking up six goals and a number of assists for the Vicarage Road club.

That included a goal in the recent 2-1 defeat to Maurizio Sarri’s side. And the Italian boss has taken note, with Pereyra’s agent admitting the Blues have registered an interest.

Villa Park to be Rico’s arena?

Aston Villa boss Dean Smith left Brentford for the big gig in the Midlands in October. And now he looks set to snap up a top talent from his bee-leaguered former club.

The man in question is flying full-back Rico Henry, a Birmingham native who also began his career as part of Smith’s all-action Walsall side.

One of the few shining lights for a Brentford side currently struggling in the Championship, he could well be persuaded to jump ship.

Transfermarkt.co.uk estimate his asking price around the £11m mark. If Sarri can snap him up for that price, it could be a remarkable bit of business.

Moreno moving on

Liverpool are flying high at the top of the Premier League, but not everyone at Anfield is loving life at the club.

Out-of-favour defender Alberto Moreno has told Spain’s Estadio Deportivo that he won’t be renewing his contract, which ends in the summer. The 26-year-old is reportedly looking to move back to La Liga.

Having played just twice in the Premier League this term, few Reds fans are likely to fear losing him. But there’s no doubt the Spain international could be getting first-team football elsewhere.
