The January transfer window is now starting to pick up pace.

We’ve seen Christian Pulisic announce a summer move to Chelsea since the turn of the year.

But now it looks like one of the Premier League’s most prolific goal-getters is moving across the border.

Our traders have Bournemouth striker Jermain Defoe odds on at 1/2 to join the Steven Gerrard revolution at Rangers.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Defoe’s struggling for game time at Bournemouth and the latest betting suggests it’s not if, but when, he moves north of the border to Rangers.”

Whenever Defoe is on the pitch he near enough guarantees goals. He’s notched double figures in England in eleven top-flight seasons since 2001-02.

Gerrard will see the former England international as a sure thing in Rangers’ pursuit of the Ladbrokes Premiership title.

He may not be getting pitch time right now, but could Defoe be the missing piece to a first SPL win for Rangers since 2010-2011?
