Southampton v Man Utd tips: United to win on the road?

Manchester United make the trip to the St Mary’s Stadium to take on Southampton tonight.

Jose Mourinho’s side may be struggling on their own patch but they have performed impressively on the road this season.

A 2-1 win over Juventus at the Allianz Stadium was the highlight, but they also picked up four points from tricky away ties at Bournemouth and Chelsea.

The Saints did show some fight in the loss to Fulham last weekend, but can Mark Hughes’ side score a much-needed win?

We’ve got all the key odds and info ahead of the big match…

Match Odds

Man United are 17/20 to grab a fourth away league win of the season.

Southampton are 16/5 to win at home for the first time this campaign.

They’ve earned two draws in their last four games and another stalemate is at 5/2.

In the pair’s last three games there has only been one goal scored. The match to feature Under 1.5 Goals is 13/5.

Talking Tactics

Alexis Sanchez could be out for a ‘long time’ and misses the game after suffering a hamstring injury in training. The Chilean hasn’t been in great form this season but he loves a goal against Southampton.

This could see Romelu Lukaku get a recall and Paul Pogba to start alongside Marouane Fellaini in the centre of midfield.

Goalkeeper David De Gea is fresh from signing a new deal at Old Trafford until 2020.

Southampton are again likely to be without Ryan Bertrand and Danny Ings, so Manolo Gabbiadini or Charlie Austin could come in.

Summer signing Mohamed Elyounoussi could be pushing for a start. The 4-2-3-1 formation could stay but left back Matt Targett may be unavailable.

Goalscorer Odds

Lukaku scored the only goal in this fixture last season. The Belgian striker is 13/8 to score anytime.

Pogba could be on penalty duty for the Red Devils. He’s 6/1 to bag first.

Juan Mata has scored some vital goals in his United career. The Spanish midfielder is 14/5 to notch anytime.

Austin is Saints biggest goal-threat. He scored at Old Trafford the last time Southampton beat United, back in 2016.

Our traders have Austin to score anytime at 9/4.

Stuart Armstrong bagged twice against Fulham. The former Celtic man is 40/1 to grab a brace and 9/2 to score one.
