Noel Fehily talks Fighting Fifth, weekend chances and Christmas hopes

Summerville Boy was very disappointing last weekend in the Fighting Fifth. He didn’t jump well enough and just didn’t seem to run his race.

I am sure he is better than that but I wouldn’t take anything away from Buveur D’Air who looked exceptional on the day and will be very hard to beat for the rest of the season.

I ride Time To Move On in the first at Wetherby tomorrow (12.05). He is a good bumper horse who has beaten Harry Fry’s horse Caribert at Exeter, who went on to win the fifty grand bonus at Newbury.

Time To Move On then went on to win his next start under a penalty at Exeter again. He looks like a horse who should be decent novice hurdler for the rest of the season hence why I am going there for just the one ride.

I have three rides on Sunday at Huntingdon, starting with Bags Groove at 12.50. He was very impressive last time at Wincanton and I would like to think he can be very competitive again.

I will be disappointed if he doesn’t go close. He is my main hope on Sunday.

Winston C is in the Novices’ Hurdle at 1.20 and is an 87 rated flat horse. He has been running ok on the flat. I don’t think he will mind the ground.

Again I would be hoping for a nice run from him. If he finishes in the money, we will be happy.

In the Bumper at 3.00, I ride Toodlepip who goes nicely at home. However, it is a competitive race first time. Again, if she was able to finish in the money we would be happy with that.

Looking ahead, I am looking forward to the likes of If The Cap Fits coming out.

He could go for the Long Walk Hurdle at Ascot to try three miles. It’ll be interesting to see how he copes with a longer trip over Christmas maybe.
