Dan Skelton previews his runners at Aintree, Chepstow and Huntingdon

We have runners starting at Aintree with two in the Novices’ Hurdle at 11.55 – Bonbonniere and West Of The Bridge.

There’s two pretty good horses in here and Bonbonniere is only having her second career start so she doesn’t look like she will be figuring in this grade. West To The Bridge has shown ok form but not enough to trouble the principles.

In the Handicap Hurdle at 1:00, we’ve got Ch’Tibello. I think he’s worth a try at two-and-a-half again. He looks like he could be a stayer now.

We also run Notwhatiam who drops back in trip. He looks progressive and would have a little chance.

Soft/heavy ground will negate the fact he’s coming back in trip. I think he is best left-handed so that’s good.

At Chepstow, we’ve got Bennys King in a Handicap Chase at 12.20. It’s his first run for us. He did OK as a hurdler. He’d one run over fences but pulled up.

We’ve had him for plenty of time now and he’s ready to get his season started. The trip is perfect and he’s jumped nicely at home.

In the 3.05, Zaphyros Bleu runs in a Handicap Hurdle for the first time on real soft ground which he wants. Hopefully he has a chance.

Sunday

On Sunday we have a busy day at Huntingdon. We start with Red Rising in a Novices’ Chase at 12.50. It looks a warm race but we like this horse.

He is very honest, he will love the trip, and it would be nice to get another run into him as well. These novice chasers are very hot so you just have to get in there and get on with it basically.

Flash The Steel runs in a Novices’ Hurdle at 1.20. We are happy with him, the track will suit him and he will have a little chance on Form.

Mister Universum will be ridden by Willie Marshall again and takes ten pounds off at 1.55. He came second last week and as long as the ground’s not too bad, he’ll have a chance. Willie gets on well with him too.

We run Rene’s Girl in the Peterborough Chase at 2.25. She has won around course and distance in a Listed Mares’ Chase before.

We all know she is a good mare and she just has to prove that she can step up against the boys. She looks fantastic. It is a very deep race and there’s a lot in it with a good chance so we are going there with our eyes opened.

Emmas Joy runs in a Listed Mares’ Bumper at 3:00 which is a very strong race. I have a lot of respect for Paul Nicholls’ Silver Forever; I thought she looked very good.

Ours was tough when she won. We are very happy with her and she will also have a chance.
