Scotland v Israel Tips: Can McLeish’s men build on Albania mauling?

Scotland gave their hopes of UEFA Nations League success an almighty boost on Saturday, with a 4-0 victory in Albania.

That marked the Albanians heaviest loss in over seven years. And victory tonight versus Israel would see McLeish’s men win promotion to League B, and bag a play-off spot for Euro 2020.

Match Odds

Had it not been for John Souttar’s red card in the reverse fixture, Scotland likely would’ve left Israel with at least a point.

They should take all three this evening, with the visitors losing four of their last five away games – including a 3-0 loss to Northern Ireland on their last trip.

In the Match Betting, it’s 3/4 for a Scotland victory. Meanwhile, the Draw is 12/5, with an Israel victory out at 19/5.

Having kept clean sheets in two of their three Nations League games thus far, Scotland are 33/20 to Win to Nil again. Meanwhile, a 2-0 home win is priced at 6/1.

Talking Tactics

McLeish has been keeping the opposition on their toes by switching Scotland’s system up pretty regularly.

However, it could be an advanced midfield trio of Ryan Fraser, Scott McTominay and James Forrest behind evergreen striker Steven Fletcher.

Israel have gone 3-5-2 in all of their Nations League games thus far. Queens Park Rangers hitman Tomer Hemed is the first name on the teamsheet up top, and is likely to be paired with the pacy Ben Sahar.

Goalscorer Odds

Forrest is enjoying some of the best form of his career right now. He bagged a brace in Shkoder on Saturday, and also has nine goals for Celtic this term.

The Prestwick-born playmaker is 16/5 to find the net Anytime, while it’s a hefty 22/1 that he bags Two or More Goals once again.

Meanwhile, the reliable Fletcher is 13/8 to get on the scoresheet at Hampden Park, and 9/2 to break the deadlock.

Israel’s best chance of a goal likely lies with Hemed. He’s scored an impressive 17 times in 35 international outings, and is 16/5 to add to that tally here.
