John Barrowman has been installed as the joint-favourite to win the 2018 edition of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!
The Doctor Who and Torchwood star had been leading the market on his own up until this morning.
But The Vamps singer James McVey has taken a chunk out of his own odds to join the Scottish-American actor at 4/1.
That puts them comfortably ahead of 6/1 shot Emily Atack, who herself is clear of Harry Redknapp, Noel Edmonds and Anne Hegerty – all of whom are 10/1.
The latter of the trio may be available at double-digit odds, but that isn’t deterring jungle punters, because we can report that the Governess is the most popular pick with the public.
At the other end of the scale, 16/1 shot Malique Thompson-Dwyer is the least popular campmate, having been the subject of just 3.25% of all bets placed so far.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “ITV chiefs shocked everyone with the announcement of John Barrowman and punters have piled in on him going all the way Down Under.”
“The Governess is proving popular with punters and she’s some way ahead of the chasing pack in terms of bets placed so far”, he added.
