ITV Racing Tips: Tiger Roll set to roar at the November Meeting?

Tiger Roll wins Grand National

The jump season really kicks into gear this weekend with the Cheltenham November Meeting.

Favourites including Tiger Roll and Pym get the action underway on the first day of the three-day spectacular. But can they both justify their position at the head of the market?

You can find out live on ITV4 from 1:50pm, and we’ll attempt to guide you in the right direction with our ITV Racing Tips.

NAP – Tiger Roll – 3:00 Cheltenham

A competitive Cross Country Handicap Chase should go the way of last season’s dual Cheltenham and Grand National winner, Tiger Roll.

The eight-year-old has shown time and again that he has the stamina to stay these exacting trips. And his record on seasonal reappearance bodes well for this 3m6f jaunt too.

Anything other than a win for the favourite, who carries top weight, would come as a major surprise for Gordon Elliott and punters alike.

NB – Mr Whipped – 2:25 Cheltenham

Nicky Henderson won this contest in 2016 with O O Seven. He has a great chance of doing so once again with Mr Whipped.

The trainer admitted in a recent interview that he’s reluctant to give horses their first taste of chasing around Cheltenham. So that must tell us something about the calibre of the selection.

He showed plenty of promise as a novice hurdler, and if he can retain that fluency over the bigger obstacles, he looks a nice price for this 2m4f contest.

Lively Longshot – Peppay Le Pugh – 1:50 Cheltenham

Our man Dan Skelton could have a live one in the opener on ITV. Peppay Le Pugh has been progressing nicely through the summer, winning three of his six starts.

The handicapper looked to have finally caught up with him at Ascot last time out, so the slight reduction in trip should help out the seven-year-old here.

Nevertheless, the son of Arakan still finished only a neck behind the second-place Caid du Lin. With Wenyerreadyfreddie romping home out front, that may prove to be a handy piece of form.

With some big priced winners of this Handicap Chase in recent years, it could be worth taking a chance on the raider under the bang in-form Harry Skelton.

ITV Racing tips:

1:50 Cheltenham – Peppay Le Pugh (Lively Longshot)

2:25 Cheltenham – Mr Whipped (NB)

3:00 Cheltenham – Tiger Roll (NAP)

3:35 Cheltenham – Double Treasure
