How the Bookies are calling Deontay Wilder v Tyson Fury

The waiting is almost over as Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury face-off for their hotly-anticipated WBC Heavyweight championship fight.
This is being billed as one of the fights of the year and ahead of the huge bout, we chatted to our boxing trader Tommy Young to get the lowdown…
Ladbrokes News: Hey Tommy, what’s on the line when these two get in the ring?
Tommy Young: Wilder is the 4/6 favourite to defend his WBC heavyweight crown. Fury is 5/4 for the victory on Saturday night in LA.
LN: What do you make of Fury’s comeback so far this year?
TY: He has fought twice since beating Wladimir Klitschko and then having an enforced two and a half year period of inactivity.
In that time Fury put on 10 stone which he has now lost and looks in good shape.
While he looks in good shape it is worrying that he didn’t look great in either of his recent fights since the break.
In his 10-round win over Francesco Pianeta he didn’t seem to have the same speed. He never hurt Pianeta with any big shots and just didn’t seem back to his best.
LN: Wilder has an impressive record, but how does he go about beating Fury?
TY: Wilder’s KO record shows that his biggest weapon is his power, he has ferocious one-punch power that can put anyone to sleep.
Wilder’s footwork isn’t great and he’s often off balance, but so far his stylistic flaws haven’t caught up with him because he has such power when he does manage to land.
If he lands clean he will cause big problems for Tyson. However, his style of boxing is not one for the purists and his punches come like windmills.
LN: Wilder may be favourite but what chance does the Gypsy King have of an upset?
TY: Pretty tough to call this with great confidence as Fury is a bit of an unknown at this stage, if he is at his best he will have an excellent chance.
Fury may have needed the (Pianeta) fight to blow away the cobwebs and now he’s back but I’m not sure.
It would be remarkable if he was back to his best. Especially given that he was knocked down by two lesser opponents (Neven Pajkic and Steve Cunningham) than Wilder before the Wladimir Klitschko win.
