Friday’s ATP Finals tips: Isner to get his first win?

Published:

Day six sees the culmination of the group-phase of the competition. Roger Federer topped his side of the draw yesterday and was joined in the last-four by Kevin Anderson.

Novak Djokovic has already progressed to the semi-final stage, but we’ll find out whether Alexander Zverev, John Isner or Marin Cilic will complete the quartet.

Isner is going in search of his first win of the tournament. A victory over Zverev could have a big say for the rest of the group.

Alexander Zverev v John Isner

Isner lost both of his previous matches, which means his tournament status is hanging by a thread.

The American was involved in the first three-set match of the competition against Cilic last time out.

Isner only managed to win 24% of point played in the entire match against the Croatian. He’s 2/1 for the win but will have to significantly improve his return rate to do this.

Zverev is in pole-position to make the last-four.

The German native has won four of the five meetings with Isner. He’s 2/5 to bag yet another victory.

With the stakes high the match is 5/4 to have Over 2.5 sets.

Novak Djokovic v Marin Cilic

The permutations will be known by the time this match begins. But it could be win or bust for Cilic.

Djokovic’s early qualification and fine form means our traders have Cilic out at 9/2 to net the victory.

Each of the pair’s previous four encounters have needed a deciding set. It’s 2/1 to feature Over 2.5 set.

However, it’s still a stretch for anyone to beat Djokovic right now.

The Serbian is at a short 1/7 to win after a dominant second half of 2018.

Djoker to score a first set bagel 6-0 is 33/1.
