We go to Bangor first, where Tommy Rapper runs in this Beginners’ Chase at 12.20. He will be ridden by Bridget Andrews.

He ran really well at Ffos las first time behind a horse who has won a Grade 2 since, Bags Groove.

I think this will be a really deep race again but I have place aspirations for sure. Whether he can beat some of the higher rated horses remains to be seen.

Flash The Steel and Goodthyneaway go in the National Hunt Novices’ Hurdle at 2.00.

Flash The Steel ran well here last time and would obviously have a chance. Softer ground here could suit. Goodthyneaway has no hope. He has looked very average and he needs to be in a handicap.

We run Just Rocky in the Bumper at 3.45. He ran nicely at Warwick and I have been pleased with him. His work at home has been decent and he will be competitive. I’d say this will be his last run before he goes hurdling.

I send two to Doncaster. Mister Universum runs in the Handicap Hurdle at 1.10. He only got dropped a pound for last week but he will like the ground. There’s ten pounds off this time via his rider so he is getting close to his winning mark.

Zephyros Bleu runs in the 2.15. He has looked average and has been a bit disappointing. I thought we would have done a bit more by now.

Harry Skelton goes up to Newcastle for us. He rides Marley Firth in the 12.25 Handicap Chase to start with. He Steps up in trip and jumps well, he should go close.

We like Beakstown, who runs at 1.00 in the Novices’ Hurdle. Everyone saw him run the other day at Uttoxeter and he looks a good horse.

He picked up well and hopefully he can take another step forward before we look at some fancy targets. One thing to bear in mind with this horse is that he is going to be chaser.

Aintree My Dream runs in the Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase at 1.35. He had one run over fences last year but got hurt on the way round and had a year off. He wants soft ground. He has done plenty of work and I still think he will improve. He’d have a chance.

In the National Hunt Maiden Hurdle, we run Idee De Garde. He won a bumper up north for Nicky Richards.

Since then we’ve bought him and he has been going well at home and this is a nice starting point. I have got to get him to the track now to see how he goes but after winning that bumper, you’ve got to have a bit of respect for him.

Captain Chaos runs in the Rehearsal Chase at 3.20. I think the softer ground is a positive but he has looked out of sorts. We have put the blinkers back on and I hope he has an each-way chance because he is coming down the weights.

In the Ladbrokes Trophy (3.30 Newbury), I really want to persuade myself that Ms Parfois can win without a seasonal prep race.

I’ve always told myself if I have a runner in this race, it has got to have a run before turning up.

That is against Ms Parfois but I do think she’s got the right profile for it. She’s older than the other two, high in the betting, and I think there is a bit more scope in her mark.
