You couldn’t have written a better script for Saturday’s Super League Grand Final at Old Trafford.

Wigan Warriors are looking to give the perfect sign off to boss Shaun Wane before he departs following seven hugely successful years in charge.

As for Warrington Wolves, they’re eyeing up a first league crown since 1955, following so many near misses.

Head-to-Head and Form

Wigan have been lethal of late. The Warriors have won nine on the trot in Super League ahead of this clash, including a 26-6 victory over Warrington at the DW Stadium.

Things have been rather bumpier for a Wire side who’ve lost three of their previous seven – though they did look strong in last week’s 18-13 win at St Helens.

Wane’s men also have a long-term edge in the head-to-head record. They won each of the 2013 and 2016 Grand Finals against Warrington in fairly comfortable fashion.

Match Odds and Handicaps

Ahead of this clash, Wigan are firm-favourites to regain the trophy at 8/15, while Steve Price’s men are 13/8 to win their first Grand Final.

Four of the Warriors’ last six wins have come by a margin of over 10 points. Wane’s men are 6/4 in the -8 handicap, while there’s a more ambitious 9/4 on them at -12.

Wigan tend to be quick out of the blocks, bagging a try in the opening five minutes in two of their last six games. It’s 7/4 for a Wigan Try to be the First Scoring Play.

Try Scorers

Wigan are without star man Liam Marshall, who is sidelined through injury.

In his absence, Oliver Gildart has stepped up in impressive fashion. The 22-year-old has grabbed tries in two of the last three games.

He’s 11/8 to grab a Try Anytime, while it’s 11/1 he grabs the first of the game.

Tom Lineham is Warrington’s most dangerous player. He’s racked up 60 tries in 82 outings, and is 11/8 to score Anytime at Old Trafford.

As regards longer shots, the evergreen Stefan Ratchford scored in Warrington’s recent win at Wakefield Trinity, and is 11/4 to get over the line.

For Wigan, the powerful Second-row Ben Murdoch-Masila is 4/1 to muscle through for a Try.
