Where does Enable go next after second successive Arc success?

Sea Of Class ran Enable close at ParisLongchamp. But there was nothing she could do to counter the wonder-filly as she recorded a second successive Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe success.

John Gosden’s superstar edged her rival by a short-neck to become only the eighth horse in history to win the Arc twice. She’s the first-ever to win it off the back of a single prep-run.

Now all eyes are on what’s next for the four-year-old. So we’ve taken a look at her options.

Breeders’ Cup

Gosden hinted on Friday that a run at the Breeders’ Cup would be under consideration if Enable could win the Arc. The filly has held up her side of the bargain. But will the trainer?

Ultimately it’s down to owner – Khalid Bin Abdullah – to make the final call.

A campaign interrupted by injury means Enable has only had two runs this year – so she should be fresh and capable of a stateside soiree

She’s the 4/6 favourite to land the Breeders’ Cup Turf at Churchill Downs in November. The wait is on to find out whether she goes.

Champions Day

If the Breeders’ Cup doesn’t work out, then Enable could line-up at Ascot on Champions’ Day.

She still holds entries to both the Fillies & Mares Stakes and the Champions Stakes on 20^th October.

Those races are only a fortnight prior to the Breeders’ Cup, however, so a dual-bid across either side of the Atlantic seems unlikely.

Once we know the owners’ plans with regards to Ascot, she’ll likely shorten in price for whichever race she maintains entry for.

Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe 2019

A third Arc tilt is dependent on whether the owner wishes to keep her in training as a five-year-old.

But hopes are high. No horse has ever triumphed in the Arc three times – let alone completed a hat-trick at the event.

Will that carrot be enough for the owner to be persuaded to keep her on next year? We hope so.

Our traders make Enable the joint-favourite at 6/1 to land the prize again in 12 months time.
