Wednesday’s Championship Tips: Can Leeds and Forest both prevail?

Published:
Aitor Karanka

Leeds United, West Bromwich Albion and Derby County are among the sides looking to make up ground on the top two in the Championship tonight.

The latter pair face-off against each other at the Hawthorns, while Leeds host Ipswich Town at Elland Road. Those matches make up two of the five from this evening’s Championship Tips.

Bristol City v Hull City (7:45pm)

Hull have tightened things up recently. The Tigers have conceded just four goals in their last four matches, having shipped 16 in their nine Championship fixtures prior.

That’s all well and good. But Nigel Adkins’ men still aren’t winning games. Bristol City are 17/20 to take the spoils in back-to-back matches, with the Robins and Under 2.5 Goals priced at 19/10.

Leeds United v Ipswich Town (7:45pm)

After a bit of a sticky run, Leeds will fancy their chances of returning to winning ways against the division’s bottom side. They’re 2/5 to prevail against an Ipswich team with one win all season.

The Tractor Boys haven’t just been struggling to pick up points. They’ve been struggling to score, too. They’ve failed to find the next in six matches this term, with Leeds to Nil priced at 5/4 here.

Preston North End v Brentford (7:45pm)

Games involving Preston don’t tend to be short on action. Since the start of September, North End’s nine matches have produced a net-busting 38 goals.

Add in the fact their last three home matches with Brentford have finished 2-3, 4-2 and 1-3 – and tonight’s encounter shouldn’t be short on chances.

Both Teams to Score is available at 6/10, with Over 3.5 Goals at 15/8 shot.

Bolton Wanderers v Nottingham Forest (8pm)

Bolton may have started the season with 10 points from 12 available – but the Trotters have now won just one of their last nine. Things won’t get any easier against a Forest side who love to travel.

Aitor Karanka’s men have lost once on the road this term, with Lewis Grabban bagging three of the club’s last four away goals. He’s 9/5 to net tonight, with a Forest Win and Both Teams to Score at 19/5.

West Bromwich Albion v Derby County (8pm)

The final match in our look ahead sees two of the division’s most progressive teams clash at the Hawthorns. Both managers like to attack, and both sides like to score goals.

With that in mind, it’s the Goalscorer Market that piques our interest. Leicester City-loanee Harvey Barnes has two goals in his last three matches and is 11/4 Anytime or 17/2 to Score First.

Jack Marriott has two in his last two for the visitors. He’s 11/5 Anytime. A draw between two evenly-matched outfits can be backed at 5/2.
