Tuesday’s Champions League tips: Man City, Lyon and Roma among picks

Manchester City

The Champions League roars back into action tonight with a very tasty set of games.

We’ve got a full preview of Cristiano Ronaldo’s return to Manchester United with Juventus here. And we’ve put together our tips for the best of the rest too:

Shakhtar Donetsk v Manchester City

Shakhtar are terrible travellers in Europe, but they’re much stronger on their own patch. They even beat City 2-1 at home last term.

Shakhtar or Draw is 11/5 in the Double Chance market, but City can’t afford any slip-ups after losing to Lyon in Gameweek 1. City and Both Teams to Score is going for 6/4.

Raheem Sterling was rested at the weekend after starring for England during the international break. He’ll be ready to fire here. He’s 21/20 to get on the scoresheet in Kharkiv.

Real Madrid v Viktoria Plzen

It seems a matter of when, not if, Real Madrid pull the trigger and sack Julen Lopetegui. But that shouldn’t prevent their star-studded side from getting a 1/14 win here.

Gareth Bale looks set to return to the starting line-up for this one. He’s 13/10 to score at least two goals against the Czech side.

The European champions are also 8/13 to win on the -2 Handicap.

Hoffenheim v Lyon

Lyon will fancy their chances of topping Group F after beating City in the opener. A 5/2 away win would keep them in the driving seat.

Arsenal loanee Reiss Nelson marked his first Bundesliga start with two goals for the hosts at the weekend. He’s 9/2 to open the scoring here.

But Julian Nagelsmann’s side have never won a game in the Champions League. With Lyon in very good form, they’ll have their work cut out here. Lyon and Both Teams to Score is going for 21/5.

Roma v CSKA Moscow

Roma’s four-game winning run was ended with a 2-0 loss to SPAL last weekend. They’ve got a great chance to get back on track here.

CSKA beat Real Madrid in their last CL game, but that was at home. They’ve only won two of their last 11 away games in Europe. Roma to win to nil is a 5/4 shot.

Edin Dzeko bagged a hat-trick in Roma’s last European outing. We go 5/2 that he gets two or more tonight.
