Sri Lanka v England tips: Morgan’s men to go again after washout
England’s first ODI of their tour of Sri Lanka lasted just 15 overs before rain ensured a complete washout.
Those 15 overs gave us a few clues about what to expect over the next few weeks. There’s more rain forecast, but hopefully we’ll find out more in Saturday’s second ODI in Dambulla…
Second ODI odds
England were cruising along quite nicely on Wednesday before the rain hit. They reached 92-2 with Jason Roy, Jonny Bairstow, Joe Root and Eoin Morgan contributing to 15 fours and a pair of sixes.
Sri Lanka showed their bowling capabilities those to remove Roy and Bairstow. It should be an intriguing series.
The key men
Morgan will again be looking for his side to start brightly. Openers Roy and Bairstow did just that on Wednesday.
Niroshan Dickweall and Upul Tharanga share 3/1 favouritism to top score for Sri Lanka.
Akila Dananjaya removed Roy in Wednesday’s opener, and the 25-year-old is 3/1 favourite to get the most wickets for the hosts.
The legendary Lasith ‘Slinger’ Malinga proved expensive in the opening ODI, yielding 37 runs from five overs, but is always capable of magic and is second in the betting at 10/3.
