Sporting v Arsenal tips: Will Gunners keep their winning run going?

Published:

Arsenal travel to Sporting tonight in search of an 11th straight win in all competitions. But this looks like their hardest game of the Europa League group stage on paper.

Unai Emery has taken a very strong squad to Portugal. Is another victory on the cards? We’ve got all the odds right here…

Match Odds

Arsenal are 10/11 to rack up another win here.

Sporting shouldn’t be underestimated though. They’ve won five in a row at home. We’ve got the hosts at 29/10.

The draw is going for 5/2.

With both sides in good form, there could be plenty of chances here. There’s 11/4 on Arsenal and Both Teams to Score.

Talking Tactics

Emery is set to make a few changes here to help cope with Arsenal’s packed schedule. He’ll need to be careful that shuffling his pack doesn’t derail the side’s momentum.

Aaron Ramsey could come in for Mesut Ozil, with Danny Welbeck potentially replacing Alexandre Lacazette. Matteo Guendouzi and Mohamed Elneny are likely to be paired together in midfield too.

Sporting hope that Bas Dost is fit enough to start here. If not, Fredy Montero is set to lead the line. Bruno Fernandes will look to help the Portuguese side take control in the middle of the park.

Arsenal also know Nani very well. He tended to deliver against the North Londoners back in his Manchester United days. He’s lost his pace, but he’s still got the ability to pull off the spectacular.

Goalscorer Odds

Welbeck, Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang all share 4/1 favouritism for First Goalscorer.

Ramsey will want to impress and play himself back into the first-choice XI. He’s 2/1 to get a goal.

Sporting’s best hope to break the deadlock is Dost at 6/1. He’s also 11/5 to score at any point, with Abdoulaye Diaby and Montero both at 9/4.
