Punters backing Diana for Royal Baby name

There’s been a surge of support for Diana in the market for the Royal Baby name, according to our traders.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced they were expecting their first child on Monday. And punters seem to think the baby could be named after Harry’s late mother.

The flurry of bets we’ve seen has led to Diana’s odds being cut from 16/1 to 12/1.

Victoria remains favourite at 8/1, with Albert, Arthur and Phillip all tied at 10/1 in second.

There’s been plenty of interest in 50/1 outsider Thomas too.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “Money talks, and royal punters seriously believe Harry and Meghan could name their first born Diana. However, should the Duchess give birth to a little boy, Thomas is the lively outsider at present.”
