Punters backing baby Alice after royal wish for a girl

Royal punters are heavily backing the Duke and Duchess of Sussex having a baby girl, according to our latest odds.

After Prince Harry revealed his preference of the couple welcoming a baby girl into the world, the bookies can reveal it’s been one-way traffic in the gender betting at 10/11.

Victoria still stands as the favourite at 8/1 but it’s the moniker Alice which has seen the most wagers placed in the last 24 hours at 12/1. Diana (12/1) also remains a popular bet along with Alexandra at 16/1.

However, should Meghan give birth to a little boy there is still significant interest in Albert, Arthur and Phillip all at 10/1 apiece.

Grace Doubleday of Ladbrokes said: “After Harry lets slip of his hope to have a spring girl, Alice becomes more popular as it moves up towards the top of the betting.”
