Conor McGregor is set to do battle in a familiar location this weekend. He returns to the site of his 2017 fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr – but this time it’s in the octagon and not the ring.
He faces Khabib Nurmagomedov in UFC 229 this weekend. It’s The Notorious’ first UFC fight in 24 months. And ahead of the big bout, we’ve got all the info you need…
When and where is it happening:
The pair face off at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena. Opened in 2016, this swanky 20,000-capacity arena hosted McGregor’s boxing crossover event – which ended in a 10th round TKO at the hands of Mayweather.
It’s a big card – 12 fights in total – beginning at 1am (UK Time) on Sunday morning, with the showdown between Khabib and McGregor coming at 5am.
Where can you watch it:
BT Sport will be showing the bout live on BT Sport 1, and streaming it live from their website and app – beginning with the Preliminary Card at 1am.
Who else is on the card:
There’s a total of 12 contests, with the final nine being shown by BT Sport.
On the Premilinary Card, the standout clash is arguably Aspen Ladd v Tonya Evinger in the Women’s Bantamweight.
However, things really hot up on the main card, with Tony Ferguson facing Anthony Pettis in the lead up to Khabib v McGregor.
The odds:
The Irishman faces a huge test here, with Khabib currently holding the longest undefeated streak in MMA. He’s won all of his 26 career fights, dating back to September 2008.
The UFC Lightweight Champion is 10/17 favourite to win this bout, with McGregor at 29/20.
If Conor can be king here, it’ll likely be via a KO/TKO.
Of his 21 previous wins, 18 have come via that method. Method of Victory – McGregor KO/TKO is a 3/2 shot.
As for Khabib, his best bet could be by Decision at 4/1.
There’s odds of 14/5 for the fight to go the distance, with 4/15 that it doesn’t.
