Guti and Pochettino lead betting to be next Real Madrid boss

Pochettino - Tottenham

Things are going from bad to worse for Real Madrid boss Julen Lopetegui. Los Blancos have lost three of their last four games, failing to score in the process.

With the Spaniard set for crunch talks with the Madrid board, our traders have been busy pricing up the 52-year-old’s possible replacements.

As it stands, club legend Guti leads the betting at odds of 2/1. Having spent 15 years with the club as a player, and managed the Real youth team from 2013-18, it’s no surprise he’s among the frontrunners.

Worryingly for Tottenham Hotspur fans, so is Mauricio Pochettino. He’s 3/1 to take over in the Spanish capital.

Antonio Conte is next-best at 5/1, with Laurent Blanc the other man in single-digit odds at 10/1.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Things haven’t exactly gone according to plan for Madrid so far this season and with pressure on Lopetegui’s shoulders intensifying, we reckon the La Liga giants could turn to Poch.”
