The announcement that had threatened to come for weeks arrived on the same day that Anthony Joshua overcame Alexander Povetkin last month.

Tyson Fury will be fighting WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder on December 1st 2018.

In the pair’s first pre-fight press conference, Fury said Wilder is more of a ‘pussycat’ than a ‘killer’ in the ring.

But it looks like punters believe Wilder will come through this one undefeated. We can report 75% of all bets placed on the outright winner have favoured the American.

The Bronze Bomber is 4/6 to beat Fury.

Ladbrokes’ Alex Apati said: “It’s the fight we’ve all been waiting for and while Fury is clearly confident of beating Wilder, punters don’t seem to think he has a chance.”

If you take Joshua out of the equation then these two are arguably the most feared in the division.

The Gypsy King is 6/5 to win the fight at the Staples Centre in California. A draw that could set-up a mouth-watering re-match is at 22/1.
