Who will be the next Galactico at Real Madrid?

Neymar - PSG

Our traders have put together an eight-man shortlist to become the latest star name to grace the famous Los Blancos shirt.

After the Spanish giants beat Liverpool in the Champions League final in May, it was clear one of Gareth Bale or Cristiano Ronaldo would leave the Bernabeu.

The rumours continued to swirl until Juventus agreed to pay £99 million for Ronaldo’s services.

This has left a void in Real’s side that is hard to replace. The summer came and went with only their former youth player Mariano re-signed from Lyon.

However, Julen Lopetegui may well come back in for a ‘Galactico’ signing in 2019.

They already have Spanish wonderkid Marco Asensio in their ranks, but it seems like there are three stand-out names on their wish list.

Chelsea star Eden Hazard was mooted for much of last summer but he is joined at 2/1 by Paris Saint-Germain pair Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

Hazard did say he was happy to stay at Stamford Bridge but would jump at the chance, if a move to Madrid did materialise.

Mbappe looks destined to be a future Ballon d’Or winner, but may feel a move to La Liga is where he fulfils his incredible promise.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “We’re still waiting for Madrid to make a mega-money move and the latest betting suggests Neymar, Mbappe and Hazard are high on the La Liga giants’ wanted list.”

Further down the list sees Paul Pogba priced at 6/1. The World Cup winner’s stock has risen since the tournament in Russia but his Manchester United future is in doubt.

The Champions League holders will be keen to get their business done with minimal baggage and will have the financial backing to do so.

Next Club to be Real Madrid

Neymar – 2/1
Kylian Mbappe – 2/1
Eden Hazard – 2/1
Paul Pogba – 6/1
Harry Kane – 6/1
Mo Salah – 6/1
Antoine Griezmann –  13/2
Kevin de Bruyne – 8/1
