Portugal v Italy tips: Will the hosts pour more misery on Italy?

Portugal get their Nations League campaign underway with a tricky test at home to Italy tonight.

Italy have already started theirs, drawing 1-1 with Poland last week. But they’ve only beaten Saudi Arabia since losing their World Cup play-off to Sweden last November.

Can they turn the corner in Lisbon? We got all your odds right here:

Match Odds

Home advantage could be key with Portugal as 27/20 favourites.

Since losing their World Cup play-off to Sweden, Saudi Arabia are the only side Italy have beaten in the six games since. The Azzurri are 9/4 to get their first Nations League win here.

We go 2/1 for the draw.

Talking Tactics

Portugal are without Cristiano Ronaldo here, which means Andre Silva is set to lead the line.

Ruben Neves will look to cement his place in midfield. Bernardo Silva’s creativity means he could be the game’s key player.

Italy are still adapting to life under Roberto Mancini. It’ll take some time for the former Manchester City boss to work out his best side and system. Mario Balotelli could make way for Ciro Immobile after his poor showing against Poland.

Goalscorer Odds

Andre Silva is the likeliest scorer here at 15/8. He’s also 9/2 to grab the first goal.

His namesake Bernardo Silva is 14/5 to find space and score.

Italy will be hoping Ciro Immobile can fire them to a vital win. We go 11/5 that the Lazio star scores and 5/1 that he bags the opener.

After scoring three Serie A goals already this season, Marco Benassi is 9/2 to keep up his red-hot form for the visitors.
