Liverpool v Chelsea tips: Cagey contest expected in Cup clash

Arsenal transfer odds

Liverpool are two points clear of Chelsea in the Premier League and are the only team still with a 100% win record.

The Blues were held by West Ham United last weekend and sit in third place. But with both sides prepared to ring the changes tonight we could see some break-out stars on show at Anfield…

Match odds

Liverpool are 17/20 to continue their clean sweep of wins. Chelsea are 29/10 to grab victory.

It’s 27/10 for a Draw in 90 minutes, and with the new format that would mean straight to penalties.

The Reds have won three of their last five penalty-shoot-outs and are 1/2 qualify.

Talking Tactics

Jürgen Klopp may make wholesale changes to his starting eleven.

Simon Mignolet should replace Alisson and make his first appearance of the season between the sticks in front of The Kop.

Fabinho could start and Dejan Lovren may come into the heart of the defence, whilst Dominic Solanke should get his chance up-top against his former club.

Pedro and Antonio Rudiger won’t be available and injury could rob Ruben Loftus-Cheek of a start.

This may give Ethan Ampadu a start in either midfield or central defence. Cesc Fabregas could come back in.

Goalscorer tips

The last three meetings between the pair haven’t featured more than two goals on any occasion.

This could well be a tight affair. It’s 4/6 for Under 2.5 Goals in the game.

Solanke is 5/1 to net first against his former employers.

Xherdan Shaqiri should start in a front-three and is 9/5 to bag Anytime.

Chelsea will want to give Alvaro Morata every chance to get amongst the goals, with the Spanish forward 9/4 to score Anytime.

The attacking full-back Marcos Alonso is 11/2 to bag a goal.
