Germany v France tips: How will Germans respond against World Cup holders?

Thomas Muller - Germany

The UEFA Nations League gets underway tonight with a very tasty tie as Germany host France.

This will be a real test for Germany after their nightmare in Russia this summer. In contrast, France will be full of confidence after lifting the World Cup for a second time.

We’ve got all your tips ahead of the big game…

Match Odds

Home advantage could make the difference here as Germany are 7/5 favourites.

But France haven’t lost any of the last three meetings between these sides. We’ve got Les Bleus at 2/1.

The draw is going for 9/4.

Talking Tactics

Germany’s patient passing didn’t get them anywhere at the World Cup. They’ll look to inject more speed into their game.

Leroy Sane would be a prime candidate to add a burst of pace. But after being overlooked for the World Cup squad, he could be on the bench here. He hasn’t started for Manchester City yet this term.

France won’t mess with a winning formula. Antoine Griezmann should play off Olivier Giroud, with Kylian Mbappe prowling on the right flank.

Goalscorer Odds

Timo Werner might not have scored for Germany at the World Cup but he’s favourite to net here. He’s 17/10 to score Anytime or 9/2 to bag the opening goal.

It’s 15/8 that Thomas Muller turns up with a goal for Die Mannschaft.

Griezmann and Mbappe are both 19/10 to hit the back of the net for the world champions.

Giroud is another striker who didn’t score in Russia. The Chelsea man’s a 21/10 shot to fire back at his critics with a goal.
