Arsenal v Everton tips: Gunners to close top-four gap?

Published:

After a tough start to the season, Arsenal are starting to find some rhythm under Unai Emery.

They’ve racked up four straight wins in all competitions. Next up is a home game against Everton this afternoon. The Toffees will be looking to respond after their loss to West Ham United last week.

There should be plenty of action at the Emirates. And we’ve got all the odds right here…

Match Odds

The Gunners are unbeaten in 24 home games against Everton, a run stretching back to 1996. They’re 4/9 to win and keep that streak going. Arsenal and Both Teams to Score is 33/20.

The Merseyside club are 11/2 to get a long-awaited away win here.

The draw is going for 18/5. Everton’s last two away games have both finished 2-2. We go 14/1 that the same scoreline happens again here.

Talking Tactics

Arsenal have looked much better since Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang started together. They still look vulnerable at the back, which means they usually have to outscore the opposition.

Lucas Torreira could make his first league start for the North London side after impressing in his cameos so far. He would add more defensive protection in midfield.

Everton created enough chances to get a result against West Ham last week. But the lack of a top quality striker cost them.

They’ll need to be much more clinical to get anything in this one. Theo Walcott will look to get in behind against his former club. His speed can cause real problems for Nacho Monreal.

Goalscorer Odds

Aubameyang is 5/6 to follow up his brace against Vorskla Poltava with another goal here. Lacazette isn’t far behind as a 21/20 Anytime scorer. They’re 3/1 and 7/2 respectively to open the scoring.

Aaron Ramsey likes playing Everton. He’s bagged six goals in his last four appearances against them. We go 9/5 that he adds to his tally here.

Everton will hope Cenk Tosun can get a confidence-boosting goal at  12/5 Anytime.

Walcott’s 16/5 to mark his return by getting on the scoresheet.
