Tiger Woods’ return to form has coincided with the USA’s favouritism ahead of next weekend’s Ryder Cup.

The golfing legend won his first PGA Tour event since 2013 with victory at East Lake in the Tour Championship on Sunday.

Our traders have now priced the 42-year-old up at 3/1 to win a major in 2019.

Before that, though, he’ll be hoping to help Team USA to their first Ryder Cup win on European soil since 1993.

As things stand, 80% of all bets placed on the winner have been in favour of the USA, forcing us to cut odds of them winning in Paris from 4/5 to 8/11.

Woods himself is also the most popular pick to be Top Points Scorer at this year’s Ryder Cup.

Meanwhile, he’s 14/1 to hole the winning putt in France, with 6/1 saying he ends the next calendar year as the World Number One.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Punters are clearly confident in USA and in particular Tiger Woods, who’ll head to France as the most popular pick of the bunch.”
