Your one-stop guide to this season’s Serie A fixtures

Kalidou Koulibaly - Napoli

The fixtures for the coming Serie A campaign are out, and it all kicks off with a tasty double-header on Saturday 18th August.

Juventus make the trip to face Chievo, while there’s a heavyweight tussle as Lazio host Napoli.

Meanwhile, new boys Frosinone visit Sampdoria in their first ever Serie A game on the Sunday.

Juve’s key fixtures

Juve’s first big test comes against Lazio on the second weekend, while the first clash between the Old Lady and Carlo Ancelotti’s new-look Napoli is on 30th September.

And the reverse fixture comes at the start of spring, with Cristiano Ronaldo and co. heading to Stadio San Paolo on 3rd March.

The Derby Della Italia arrives for its first instalment on 7th December, as Inter Milan head to Juventus Stadium. And the pair do battle again on 27th April.

Derby days

Speaking of derbies… one which could have some added impetus is the Turin edition.

Torino and Juve meet first on 15th December, but it’s the clash on 5th May which really catches the eye. If Juve are still tussling for the title, their city rivals could be well up for spoiling the party.

AC Milan will be bidding to bounce back after a disappointing sixth-placed finish last  term. They face city rivals Inter on 21st October, with the reverse on 17th March.

Roma were top dogs in the capital last term – but a six-game winless run over new-year killed their title ambitions.

They have a fairly kind run of fixtures in the opening weeks, before the Eternal Derby against Lazio on 29th September.

Other contenders

Talking of Simone Inzaghi’s men, they have a real baptism of fire this season. Their opener against Napoli is followed by a trip to Juventus Stadium.

In Lombardy, Atalanta are bidding to secure one of Serie A’s coveted European spots for the third season on the trot. They face Roma and AC Milan in a tricky first six weeks.

Lower down the table, SPAL produced a great escape to survive the drop by a point last term – losing just two of their last 13 games. They head to Bologna on the opening weekend, hoping to continue that momentum.
