Temperatures continue to rise as odds tumble on hottest August ever

London summer weather

The Great British summer shows no sign of ending, according to our traders, with odds slashed on this month going down as the hottest August on record.

With more sweltering weather on the way, we go just even-money (from 3/1) that the month is the hottest August ever.

As the mercury continues to rise, there’s also a gamble taking place that any part of the UK sees temperatures of 35C or higher this week. You can back that at 2/1 as the heatwave continues.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “We’ve had glorious weather over the last few weeks and as Brits prepare for summer holidays, it looks as though they’d be better off staying in this country to top up on their tans!”
