Premier League tips: Chelsea and Fulham can start with a bang

The World Cup is over and deadline day has come and gone, it’s now time for the Premier League to kick into gear.

It’s the first weekend of the new campaign, and it comes with the annual buzz of hope and expectation.

You can find full match previews for this weekend’s televised action on the news.ladbrokes website. Stick around though for a one-stop top tips lowdown on the Premier League 3pm games…

Bournemouth v Cardiff

Premier League returnees Cardiff City begin their campaign with a trip to Bournemouth. They’re 13/4 to collect three points, with the Cherries odds-on favourites at 17/20.

Cardiff will give this a good go, but Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth are getting pretty shrewd at this Premier League lark by now. The hosts boast plenty of attacking threat too and that could prove the difference.

Fulham v Crystal Palace

These are exciting times for Fulham fans. They’ve seen their club become the first promoted side to spend more than £100m in the transfer window.

Their dander will be well and truly up when Crystal Palace make the short hop to Craven Cottage. Wilfried Zaha has stayed with the Eagles, but Fulham’s buzz and momentum could see them prevail at 29/20. Palace are 9/5, with 9/4 about a draw.

Huddersfield v Chelsea

Even if deadline day arrival Mateo Kovacic isn’t in the squad, Maurizio Sarri’s new-look Chelsea look devilishly good going forward.

An away trip to Huddersfield is the perfect game for the Blues to find their feet. The Terriers brought in a number of players during the summer, but could be in real relegation trouble.

Chelsea are a confident 6/10 to bag an opening weekend win.

Watford v Brighton

One of the opening weekend’s most open games could come at Vicarage Road between Watford and Brighton.

Gerard Deulofeu was one of seven summer signings for the Hornets, while the Seagulls made 16 additions in the off-season.

It means both teams are still finding their way. A home win is 27/20, an away success 11/5, but it’s the draw which stands out at 21/10.
