Leeds United new favourites to win the Championship

Leeds United are the new favourites to win this season’s Championship, according to the latest odds.

The Yorkshire outfit have won back-to-back games against two sides well-backed for promotion in Stoke City and Derby County, scoring seven goals in the process.

And our traders have been forced to slash the odds on Marcelo Bielsa’s men topping the table come next May to just 9/2 (from 11/1 before the season started).

Former favourites, Stoke City, have been pushed out to 7/1 and are already six points off the pace in the Championship, while West Brom and Aston Villa are just behind in the betting at 8/1 apiece.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “They’ve been the standout side in the division so far so it’s no surprise to see Leeds’ outright odds slashed so substantially – even after just two weeks.”
