Frankie Dettori previews his rides at the Ebor Festival

Ladbrokes ambassador Frankie Dettori talks to us about Stradivarius, Without Parole, and the rest of his rides at the Ebor Festival this week in his latest blog.

Wednesday rides

I start the week on Sevanna Star tomorrow in the Great Voltigeur Stakes (3pm). He comes here having had a long lay-off since the Derby.

I am concerned about the ground, I am afraid it will be a little bit too quick for him.

I am really looking forward to riding Without Parole in the Juddmonte International Stakes (3.35pm).

I always thought that a mile and a quarter would be his best trip – it was a bit of a non-event in the Sussex Stakes.

This looks a very strong race and it’s the first time he runs at this trip, taking on these types of horses. That said, I won’t be surprised if he runs a big race.

Thursday rides

My first ride on Thursday is Angel’s Hideaway in the Lowther Stakes (1.55pm). She has done nothing but improve and I think she will run a big race.

In the Clipper Logistic Handicap (3pm), I’m on Poet’s Society. He gave me a super run in the Golden Mile at Goodwood.

This is a wide open race and it would be hard to say that he is a strong fancy. If he runs like he did at Goodwood, he could have a chance.

I am really looking forward to riding Coronet in the Darley Yorkshire Oaks (3.35pm). I love the filly and she loves York. This race was always the target.

There are a couple of very good three-year-old fillies in the race such as Laurens and Irish Oaks winner Sea Of Class, so it is quite tough but Coronet won’t run a quiet race.

I ride Lah Ti Dar in the British EBF & Sir Henry Cecil Galtres Stakes (4.15pm). She is on a comeback mission, having had a very stop start spring.

We do like her, the distance is perfect, but the ground might be a little bit quick for her. It is her first run for a long time so I am taking her with a pinch of salt.

She could be a bit rusty. She is definitely good enough to do herself justice though.

My last ride on a busy Thursday is Betty F in the British Stallion Studs EBF Fillies’ Handicap (4.50pm).

She was very good at Goodwood. I rode her for Jeremy Noseda before. She is an honest filly and this is the right trip but it is an open race so it’s very hard to put your finger on it.

Friday rides

I kick Friday off on Alternative Fact for Ed Dunlop in the Sky Bet Handicap (1.55pm). He ran very well at Newmarket but it is a very tough handicap.

I can’t wait to ride Stradivarius in the Lonsdale Cup (2.25pm). He needs no introduction and a win would just be a dream come true.

Everyone is talking about this million pound bonus! You can’t fault him; he has no hard luck stories. He has beaten the same horses even with a penalty.

It would be so disappointing if he was beaten. He is the one I am obviously most looking forward to riding at the festival.

In the Ebor (3.40pm), I’m on Weekender. This race has been the long-term target.

He always runs solid races. I know he is carrying top weight, but that is deservedly so because of what he’s done. I think he will run a big race!
