When does the summer transfer window close across Europe?

Published:

Whether you like it or not the World Cup is a thing of the past now. Pre-season is back in full-swing with each club upping the ante, with only a matter of weeks until the domestic campaign starts.

Every manager across the continent will be looking to make those final acquisitions to hone their squads.

We take a look at the important dates you need to know and when your club must get their transfer business done!

Premier League

England’s where the biggest changes have occurred. The usual 31st August deadline has been scrapped after Premier League clubs voted to close the summer window before the new season begins.

While it ensures there will be fewer disruptions and hysteria going into the new season. It may increase the chances of a frenetic final day on Thursday 9th August.

Clubs can still sell players until the end of August though.

This could mean the likes of Eden Hazard, Thibaut Courtois and Anthony Martial could yet seal moves away from England – even after the Premier League kicks-off!

Europe

However across Europe all is much the same.

The Friday 31st August deadline still remains in France as well as over in La Liga, Serie A and the Bundesliga.

Real Madrid will be looking for a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo. And the extra few weeks could prove vital to their chances.

New Napoli boss Carlo Ancelotti will be hoping to keep pace with Juventus again this season.

The loss of Jorginho to Chelsea was a blow but the former AC Milan manager has slightly more time on his hands to get a replacement.
