We reveal the favourites for top five English leagues; Man City 8/11

Manchester City

The numbers have been crunched, and the verdict from our odds floor is out – with the outright favourite revealed for each of England’s top five tiers.

Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City are 8/11 for the Premier League title.

The Citizens are the second-shortest price of any side in Prem history before a ball has been kicked. The only side at smaller odds were the Chelsea side of 2006-07.

In the Championship, Stoke City lead the market at 11/2. The Potters are bidding to make an instant return to the Premier League, following relegation last term.

3/1 shots Sunderland are comfortable favourites in League One. Meanwhile, there’s 11/2 about Notts County getting the League Two crown.

National League Salford City at 2/1 are one of the best-backed sides in the country to win a title, having shortened from 11/2 when the market first opened.

The Ammies are flush with cash, and have added the likes of Aberdeen ace Adam Rooney and Fleetwood Town captain Nathan Pond this summer.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Backing the current favourites across the board right now will pay 875/1, a bet which plenty seem to think there’s value in.”
