England now third-favourites to win the World Cup

Germany v England odds

England’s odds of winning the World Cup have been slashed after a dramatic weekend in Russia.

Argentina and Portugal are out of the tournament after losing to France and Uruguay respectively on Saturday.

But it was Spain’s shock exit to hosts Russia which forced our traders to cut odds on the Three Lions going all the way from 7/1 to just 5/1.

That means Southgate’s men are now joint-third favourites in the betting to lift the trophy.

And with 7/2 shots Brazil and France in the same half of the draw, it means England are joint-favourites to reach the final in their section, alongside Croatia.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “The big shocks just keep on coming and England continue to benefit as a result. The luck of the draw has gifted them a winnable route to the final so we’re taking no chances by slashing odds on them lifting the cup!”
