After an incredible tournament featuring 32 teams and 736 players, Sunday’s World Cup Final will be contested between France and Croatia.

Les Bleus edged through a semi-final against Belgium to reach their first tournament showpiece since 2006.

Zlatko Dalic’s men disposed of England in extra-time to book their place in a first major final.

It’s all set up for an intriguing encounter in Moscow on Sunday. But which players from either side make it into our ultimate World Cup Final team? Read below and find out.

GK – Hugo Lloris

Croatia’s Danijel Subasic has had the better tournament. But Hugo Lloris is the more reliable of the pair.

The Tottenham Hotspur stopper has kept four clean sheets at the tournament and looks a good shout to be the first French winner of the Golden Glove award.

LB – Ivan Strinic

Lucas Hernandez and Ivan Strinic have both done a solid job for their respective countries, so this was a tough one.

However, the Croatian just about edges it thanks to his impressive displays in the knockout stages.

CB – Raphael Varane

Questions have been asked of this France defence throughout the tournament.

Raphael Varane and co. have answered them. The 25-year-old has been imperious at the heart of the backline and chipped in with a crucial goal against Uruguay to boot.

CB – Domagoj Vida

The Valtreni defence hasn’t been overly impressive in Russia. But the ponytailed Domagoj Vida has been the pick of the bunch at centre-half.

Alongside Dejan Lovren, the 29-year-old has been an ever-present throughout the tournament and showed his battling qualities against England in the semi-final.

RB – Benjamin Pavard

There’s always a breakout star at every World Cup. And Stuttgart ace Benjamin Pavard could be that player in 2018.

His assured performances at right-back belie a player aged just 22-year-old. His goal against Argentina wasn’t bad either, was it?

CM – N’Golo Kante

France’s midfield engine has made Didier Deschamps’ men tick.

N’Golo Kante is the beating heart of Les Bleus, extinguishing danger and setting the forward players on their way to the country’s first final since 2006.

CM – Luka Modric

Arguably one of the stars of the tournament. The diminutive ace has dictated the play superbly and showed his superior class to full effect in the closing stages against England.

Could he cap an incredible year with a World Cup Final winner’s medal?

CM – Paul Pogba

It hasn’t quite gone to plan for Paul Pogba at Manchester United this season. But his performances for France have been solid if not spectacular.

His ability to find space and play an inch perfect ball sees him comfortably slot into our midfield line-up.

ST – Kylian Mbappe

Paris Saint-Germain youngster Kylian Mbappe has been the star of the tournament.

The 19-year-old has impressed throughout with his skills and pace but it was against Argentina in the last-16 that the PSG ace truly announced himself to the world.

Two goals and two man-of-the-match awards see him as favourite for the Golden Ball.

ST – Olivier Giroud

Chelsea ace Olivier Giroud hasn’t been particularly potent in front of goal. But it’s his all-round play which gets him in our side.

The powerful Frenchman provides a focal point up top to bring other players into the game. Without him, Les Bleus look lost.

ST – Ante Rebic

Ivan Perisic may have scored a crucial goal in the semi-final, yet it’s Ante Rebic who has been the pick of Croatia’s forward players.

The supposed Manchester United target has lit the tournament up with his pace and excellent dribbling ability when taking on defenders.
