Next weekend sees the return of the Championship. And another thrilling campaign is surely in store.

Ahead of an action-packed opening weekend, we’ve got all the info on who’s playing, when it’s happening and where you can watch it…

The Opener

It all begins under the lights at Madejski Stadium on Friday 3rd August.

Frank Lampard makes his managerial bow, with many eager to see how his new-look Derby County line up against Reading.

This has tended to be a thrilling clash in recent times. Each of the last five games have seen both teams net. And three of those have seen five or more goals scored.

It kicks off at 7:45pm, and ahead of the curtain-raiser it’s 10/11 for Both Teams to Score.

The Other TV games

Saturday’s selected game kicks off at 5:30pm, as newly-relegated Swansea City face a baptism of fire with a trip to Sheffield United.

On Sunday, another of last season’s relegated Premier League sides – Stoke City – also face a visit to Yorkshire, meeting Leeds United and Marcelo Bielsa at 4:30pm.

And that’s followed at 7:45pm on Monday by Hull City v. Aston Villa – as Villans boss Steve Bruce heads back to the club where he spent four years as manager.

Where to watch them

Handily, the current set-up means all four of the games will be on the same channel – Sky Sports Football.

In fact, each of the 27 games announced for TV coverage in the Championship – up to Wednesday 24th October – will be screened on there.
