PSG primed for Kante move

Paris Saint-Germain are lining-up a move for N’Golo Kante this summer.

The club are seriously targeting a Champions League win next season and see the two-time Premier League winner as vital to their quest.

There have been big changes at the Ligue 1 champions already. New manager Thomas Tuchel is ready to put his own stamp on the side and wants Kante to be his first major signing.

Tuchel has been eyeing a few midfield enforcers to freshen things up.

He’s been in touch with Dortmund’s Julian Weigl, a player he knows well from his time at the club.

But it seems Kante’s Premier League medals may swing it in the 27-year-old’s favour.

Former boss Unai Emery swapped between an experienced Thiago Motta and the youthful Giovani Lo Celso to be the defensive base.

Although, with Motta missing nineteen games through injury and Lo Celso still learning the ropes former Chelsea man Lassana Diarra came in to fill the void.

However, Tuchel may want a man for the here and now.

Chelsea themselves look to be in limbo this summer. They’re without Champions League football for a second time in three seasons with players considering their futures.

It could be a good time for Kante to look for pastures new.

The Frenchman has established himself as one of the leading defensive midfielders in the game and has the honours to show for it.

Tuchel likes to play with a more mobile midfield and Kante’s high-energy performances fit perfectly into his style.

They may still line-up in a 4-3-3 formation next season. Though, this could include the likes of Julian Draxler in a central position rather than two holding-players.

The PSG front-three pick themselves. As they are given license to thrill, it puts even more importance on defensive solidity.

Nonetheless, it looks as though Kante is on the French giant’s radar and he may feel it’s the right time to return home.
