Ladbrokes Prem fixtures: Livingston face opening-day visit to Celtic

Lee Miller - Livingston

The fixtures are out for the coming Ladbrokes Premiership campaign. And things certainly start with a bang north of the border.

Livingston ousted Partick Thistle in the play-offs to win promotion, and their reward is an opening-day trip to Celtic. It marks the pair’s first meeting since 2008.

Last season’s Championship winners St Mirren are at home to Neil McCann’s Dundee, who steered clear of the relegation battle with a strong end to last season.

Elsewhere, Hibernian host Motherwell, whilst Kilmarnock do battle with St Johnstone. Meanwhile, Hamilton Academical welcome Heart of Midlothian to New Douglas Park.

The first Sunday of the season sees two of Scotland’s biggest clubs face off, as Steven Gerrard’s new-look Rangers make the trip to Aberdeen.

But when are the big Derbies on the calendar?

The first of the bunch comes on 1st September, with the Old Firm meeting at Parkhead. That’s followed by an Edinburgh Derby at the end of October, with Hearts looking for a third successive home win against Hibs.

It’s derby weekend on 29th December, with both halves of Glasgow and Edinburgh meeting again. That weekend also sees the Tayside derby, as St Johnstone make the 26-mile trip to Dens Park.

Rangers then visit Celtic again on 30th March, before the Hibees again face their capital rivals in the final pre-split fixture.

Opening weekend fixtures

  • Celtic v Livingston
  • Hamilton v Hearts
  • Hibs v Motherwell
  • Kilmarnock v St Johnstone
  • St Mirren v Dundee
  • Aberdeen v Rangers
