Brazil 4/1 World Cup favourites as Germany’s odds tumble

Could England go all the way this summer? We’ve got them as one of six sides at 10/1 or less to win the World Cup.

Brazil lead the betting at 4/1, despite drawing with Switzerland in their opening game.

Germany’s stumble against Mexico could be much more costly. Having been pre-tournament favourites, they now face a battle to get out of the group. The holders have drifted all the way to 8/1.

The drama surrounding Spain on the eve of the tournament hasn’t had much impact on their chances. They’re 9/2 second-favourites.

England are 10/1, slightly behind Group G rivals Belgium (8/1).

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “We’ve seen every side at least once now and it’s Brazil who have been well-backed, despite dropping points in their opener against Switzerland.”

He added: “As for England, call our punters patriotic or call them crazy, but the betting suggests there’s a genuine feeling Gareth Southgate’s side could go all the way this year.”
