World Cup fever may keep English fans out of work on Monday, according to a social media poll.
We recently ran a poll which revealed a staggering 51% of fans would phone in sick if England can get the job done against Panama and qualify for the knockout stages on Sunday.
Gareth Southgate’s men could cost the gambling industry a mammoth £150m if they manage to go all the way and win this year’s World Cup.
And Monday’s victory over Tunisia triggered the biggest payout on an England game our trading department have faced in the last 10 years.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “There’s a World Cup fever spreading across the nation that may well keep over half of England’s fans off work on Monday!”
