Partick Thistle v Ross County tips: Improving Jags can grab the win

| 04.05.2018

The Ladbrokes Premiership title may have been wrapped up by Celtic, but it’s all to play for at the other end. And the bottom two clubs bump heads on Friday night as Partick Thistle host Ross County.

Clashes between these sides tend to be a fairly open affair. Each of the last six meetings have produced two or more goals, while the last clash saw four scored. It’s 4/9 for Over 1.5 Goals, while the odds make Over 2.5 a 7/5 shot.

Despite defeat in Dingwall last month, the Jags have generally had the better of this game in recent times. They’ve won three of the last five head-to-heads. And Alan Archibald’s men have also picked up four points in two games ahead of this clash.

It’s 13/10 for a Partick Thistle victory, with 2/1 for the draw. Meanwhile, County are 9/4 to win for the first time in six visits to Firhill.

Meanwhile, the odds make it 9/2 for Thistle to Win and BTTS – as they did in the last home game against Hamilton Academical.

The hosts’ Conor Sammon has had opposition keepers fishing his efforts out of the net regularly. The Irish hitman has scored in four of his last nine outings, breaking the deadlock twice. He’s 13/8 to Score Anytime, and 4/1 to be First Goalscorer.

County’s biggest goal-threat remains Dutchman Alex Schalk, who bagged a hat-trick in the last meeting. The 25-year-old is 13/10 favourite in the Anytime Goalscorer market.

If the hosts do concede first, it certainly isn’t game over. Two of the Glasgow club’s last seven wins have come in games where they’ve gone 1-0 down. Thistle to Win from Behind is a 14/1 shot.
