Livingston v Partick Thistle tips: Improving Jags can grab advantage

Tony Macaroni Arena - Livingston

It’s all-or-nothing for Livingston and Partick Thistle, with the pair battling for a place in next season’s Ladbrokes Premiership. The first leg at the Tony Macaroni Arena takes place tonight. So, can either side grab an advantage in West Lothian?

Despite a strong campaign, the Lions have been hit-and-miss on their own patch of late. They’ve won a modest five of the last 13 at home, and recently lost here to Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

By contrast, Thistle are finding their feet – bagging a 1-0 win at Dundee on the last day of the regular season. It’s 29/20 for Partick Thistle to grab a first-leg victory, while Livingston are 15/8 and it’s 2/1 for a draw.

With everything at stake for both sides, it’s likely to be tight. Especially so with five of Thistle’s last six games producing two goals or fewer. The odds make it 8/13 for Under 2.5 Goals, whilst there’s a more sizeable 9/2 for Thistle to Win to Nil.

One man who could swing this tie is Thistle’s Kris Doolan. The experienced hitman has netted twice in his last five games, and netted in his last meeting with Livi. He’s 9/5 to Score Anytime, while the 31-year-old is 5/1 to break the deadlock.

Five of the visitors’ last 15 victories have come by a 1-0 scoreline, while Livingston have lost two of their last eight games by the same score. Another 1-0 victory for the Jags is a 6/1 shot.

Speaking of long shots, Livi defender Alan Lithgow is just that. The defender has scored three times in his last six games, but is a sizeable 14/1 to find the net against the Firhill outfit.
