Boreham Wood v Tranmere: Goals could flow in Promotion Final

Tranmere Rovers and Boreham Wood lock horns in the National League Promotion Final at Wembley this afternoon with a place in the Football League at stake.

Rovers are bidding to return to the EFL for the first time since 2015, while the Wood are looking to seal a spot in the 92 for the first time in their history.

Luke Garrard’s men have won their last three matches, including both one-legged play-off matches to reach the final.

The Whites are also in good form, having won seven of their last ten nine outings, although they required extra-time to see off Ebbsfleet United last week.

Micky Mellon’s side are favourites to avenge last season’s Promotion Final defeat to Forest Green Rovers at 19/20. You can back Boreham Wood at 27/10, with the draw available 9/4.

It should be a tight match under the famous Wembley arch. But there should also be goals.

Both sides have exceptional attacking players at their disposal.

Bruno Andrade has cracked home 21 goals for the Wood so far this season, including two in his last three matches. He’s 2/1 make it three goals in three matches against Tranmere this season.

It’s touch-and-go whether talismanic winger Morgan Ferrier will pass a late fitness test on Saturday.

If he does, he’ll be a big threat for the Hertfordshire side.

The ex-Dagenham & Redbridge man has netted seven times since returning to Meadow Park in February. He’s 23/10 Anytime and 13/2 to Score Last.

For Rovers, Andy Cook provides the obvious focal point.

Since joining from Barrow at the start of last season, the 6ft striker has netted 50 goals in 88 matches. He’s the favourite to open the scoring for the hosts at 7/2. You can back him at 5/4 Anytime.

James Norwood also looks a likely bet to net at Wembley. The 27-year-old has bagged nine goals in his last 10 matches. He’s also 5/4 Anytime.

Together, Cook and Norwood are responsible for 15 of the last 17 goals that Tranmere have scored.

If the Wood fail to deal with their threat, it could be a tough afternoon on their debut appearance at the new National Stadium.

And with so many potential goalscorers, you can back Both Teams to Score at 17/20. It’s 21/20 for there to be Over 2.5 Goals.

Based on their last two meetings, most of the goalmouth action could come in the second-half.

Of the seven goals scored in their two ties so far this season, six have come after the half-time whistle.

It’s 6/1 for Boreham Wood to score 2+ Goals in the Second-Half and 3/1 in the same market for Tranmere.
