Super Sunday Tips: We preview Arsenal v Saints and Chelsea v West Ham
The Premier League wraps up its weekend schedule with two vitally important clashes this afternoon.
In the first game of the day, Southampton will be looking to snatch a point or three against an Arsenal side with eyes firmly fixed on the Europa League.
Meanwhile, Chelsea appear destined for Europe’s second-tier competition after defeat to Tottenham Hotspur last week.
They’ll want to return to winning ways against a West Ham United side who may smell blood at Stamford Bridge…
Arsenal v Southampton (2:15pm)
The Gunners took until the 75th minute to open the scoring against Stoke City at the Emirates last Sunday. We don’t think it’ll take as long this weekend.
Southampton have conceded in the opening 30 minutes of matches four times in their last two games. They’ve been breached before the half-hour mark on six of their last eight Premier League fixtures.
Alexandre Lacazette has also rediscovered his scoring touch since returning from injury. He’s netted three goals in his last two matches at the Emirates.
You can back the Frenchman to score anytime at 11/10.
Pierre Emerick-Aubameyeng is the more likely starter of the pair and is 13/5 to score anytime.
It’s also worth noting that the Saints are goal-shy at the other end. They’ve failed to score in four of their last five matches in the league. It’s 19/10 for Arsenal to Win Nil.
Arsenal and Over 2.5 Goals is also available at 6/5.
Chelsea v West Ham United (4:30pm)
Antonio Conte’s reign as Chelsea manager looks to be coming to an end.
The Blues are facing the prospect of no Champions League football next season after a nightmare run of five defeats in their last seven matches in the Premier League.
Last week’s loss to Spurs has furthered the antipathy at Stamford Bridge. And that’s something David Moyes and West Ham will look to capitalise on.
The Hammers secured a much-needed three points against Southampton last weekend, while they’ve only lost two of their last five meetings with the West Londoners in all competitions.
It’s 11/4 for West Ham or Draw in the Double Chance market.
Marko Arnautovic has been a vital component in the Hammers’ revival under Moyes. The Austrian has bagged nine goals since the Scotsman was appointed.
He nabbed a brace against the Saints last week and 16/5 to follow that up with a goal at any point against Conte’s charges.
The hosts will be relying on Alvaro Morata, who has his confidence back after a barren run in front of goal. The Spaniard is 14/5 to score first.
Five of the last six clashes between the two clubs have seen three goals or more scored.
It’s 4/7 for there to be Over 2.5 Goals at the Bridge in this one.
