Liverpool v Roma Tips: Mo Salah to snare first-leg advantage

Mo Salah - Liverpool

Liverpool’s victory over Manchester City in the Champions League quarter-final was largely down to their impressive performance in the first-leg at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp will likely implement a similar style against AS Roma tonight when the two sides meet in the first-leg of their semi-final bout.

The Reds have an impressive recent record at home. Liverpool have only lost one of their last 27 matches on Merseyside.

They’re 1/2 to claim a first-leg advantage. Alternatively, you can back the draw at 10/3.

Roma are 24/5 to pick up only their second Champions League away win in their last 15 trips abroad.

Tonight’s hosts are known for their swashbuckling style of play going forward. But they also deserve praise for tightening things up at the back.

Klopp’s charges have not conceded a single goal in their last 491 minutes of football at Anfield. They’re 19/10 to Win to Nil tonight.

And with goals most certainly in their locker, you can back the Reds to win and for there to be Over 2.5 Goals at 11/10.

That brings us nicely on to Mohamed Salah.

The newly crowned PFA Player of the Year has struck 41 times in 46 appearances since joining the Merseysiders from Roma in the summer.

Eight of those goals have come in the Champions League. He’s 7/10 to Score Anytime and 13/5 to rack up his seventh brace of the season.

Roberto Firmino has also been in fine form in the UCL. He’s clocked up nine strikes in the competition so far. You can back him at 11/8 Anytime and 9/2 to Score First.

We’ve already spoken about Liverpool’s newly tightened defence. But they’ll have their work cut out against ex-Manchester City man Edin Dzeko.

The Bosnia & Herzegovina hitman has bagged twice before at Anfield. He’s 19/10 to add to his season tally of 20 goals under the lights.

Roma manager Eusebio Di Francesco has a difficult task on his hands if he’s to guide his side through.

Keep 11 men behind the ball and they risk facing a Reds onslaught. Go toe-to-toe with their hosts and they could get picked off on the break.

Liverpool will likely dictate the tempo of the game and are 11/8 in the Half-Time/Full-Time market.
